Privacy Policy for PromptDeck
Last updated: October 24, 2026
Who is responsible
PromptDeck is published by Appro-app SRL, Rue Théodore Verhaegen 196-202 box 6231, 1060 Saint-Gilles, Brussels, Belgium. Enterprise number 0786.765.713. For a privacy question, write to hello@appro-app.com.
Data collection
This policy describes the Mac App Store edition of PromptDeck. PromptDeck is a local-first macOS application. It has no account, sign-in, synchronisation service, cloud backend, advertising, product analytics, crash reporting, push service, or third-party SDK. PromptDeck does not transmit the content of your prompts, projects, comments, tags, settings, or local file paths to Appro-app SRL.
Files, folders, and local agents
PromptDeck stores its queue and settings in its Application Support folder on your Mac. It may list folder names from locations you choose, so that you can select a project folder. It does not upload those names, paths, or file contents.
If you use the bundled promptdeckctl tool or another compatible local agent, that process reads or writes the same local queue while running as your macOS user. You decide which local tools and agents you run, what you give them access to, and where any copied or exported content is sent. The Mac App Store edition does not include promptdeckctl.
Attachments and idea notes
You can attach a file to a prompt by choosing it or dropping it onto PromptDeck. PromptDeck copies the file into its own storage on your Mac, together with its name, its size, and the time you imported it, and leaves the original untouched. Attachment copies are never uploaded and are never sent to Appro-app SRL or to an AI model; PromptDeck does not use their content for on-device generation. A copy opens only when you click it, in the application your Mac uses for that kind of file, and what that application then does with it is outside PromptDeck's control. Exports of your queue do not include attachment copies.
Idea notes, the raw ideas and longer notes you park to sort out later, are stored only on your Mac, in PromptDeck's own storage. They are never uploaded or sent to Appro-app SRL, and they are not deleted automatically: archiving an idea hides it but keeps it. The Mac App Store edition has no assistant handoff and no proposals, so it offers no way to send idea notes to an assistant.
On-device generation
On macOS versions that provide Apple Foundation Models, PromptDeck can generate a title, assessment, or agent brief from the prompt you are editing. PromptDeck uses Apple's on-device framework and makes no direct network request for this feature. If it is unavailable, PromptDeck uses a local heuristic instead.
In-App Purchases
The Mac App Store version offers a one-time PromptDeck Pro purchase. Apple processes payment, product information, purchases, restores, and entitlement verification through StoreKit and the App Store. PromptDeck only keeps the current entitlement state and display price in memory while it runs. Appro-app SRL does not receive or retain your Apple Account, card or bank details, receipt, transaction identifier, or billing address. Apple's privacy information is available at https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/.
Data sharing
PromptDeck does not sell personal data and does not send PromptDeck content to a backend, analytics provider, advertiser, support provider, or other vendor. The App Store version communicates with Apple only for StoreKit operations described above.
Storage and deletion
Your active queue remains on your Mac until you delete it. Archived prompts follow the retention setting you choose: the default is 15 days, with a configurable range of 1 to 365 days, or an option to retain archives until you delete them. PromptDeck may keep a previous local version and a migration backup on your Mac. You can delete prompts, projects, and tags in the app, or remove PromptDeck's Application Support folder in Finder. Any file you explicitly export remains where you saved it until you delete it.
Deleting a prompt can leave copies of its attachments on your Mac. PromptDeck removes them when it purges an expired archived prompt, but a copy left by an ordinary deletion can remain until you erase PromptDeck's data. To erase everything the Mac App Store edition stores on your Mac, including the queue, attachment copies, and idea notes, quit PromptDeck and delete its data folder, ~/Library/Containers/com.appro.promptdeck, in Finder. Copies in your own backups, and files you exported or opened in another application, are outside that folder.
Your rights
Because PromptDeck has no account or backend, Appro-app SRL cannot access or erase the queue, attachment copies, or idea notes stored on your Mac. You control it locally. If you have a privacy question or want to exercise a right concerning information handled by Appro-app SRL, write to hello@appro-app.com. Questions about an Apple Account or App Store transaction are handled by Apple under its own privacy policy. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
Changes
This policy will be updated before PromptDeck adds a new data destination, account, analytics, advertising, support service, or other material data practice. The current version remains available at https://www.appro-app.com/privacy-promptdeck.
