How apps work with AI agents

What the badge means

Designed for
your agent.

The goal: let your AI agent do everything you can do in the app. You ask for a task, it does the work, and you check the result.

Local first.
No MCP.

Nothing to do.
Simple, isn’t it?

Your agent works directly with the app on your device. No MCP server to set up.

These apps are exploring direct local workflows with agents. The interfaces described here are development and validation candidates. Availability varies by app and edition; this page does not promise a released integration.

AI agents, privacy
and compatibility.

Is it secure?

Local does not automatically mean secure. An agent may already have access to files, commands or network services on your Mac. A local interface also needs its own access controls and validation.

This badge describes an app's design approach. It is not a security certification. Use an agent you trust, review its permissions, and check the result of sensitive actions.

Does local first mean the AI is offline?

No. The app's local data and interface do not decide where your agent's model runs. If you use a cloud AI service, data you pass to that agent may leave your device. Cloud sync is a separate app setting and may be enabled.

Can I use the app without an agent?

Yes. The app remains a human interface, and choosing to use an agent is optional. That is different from an in-app switch that disables every agent interface: no universal off switch is promised here.

An explicit access switch is a product direction to evaluate for each app, alongside its actual access controls.

Does the badge work with every AI agent?

No universal compatibility is promised. An agent needs to call the interface available in your app's edition. Check the app's documentation before setting up a workflow. The “Works with AI Agents” badge introduces this approach; it does not grant an agent permission to act.
